About approvals and certifications in Central American countries

Each country within South America has its own unique process for product Approvals. Argentina and Brazil, Boliva, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Frech Guiana, Suriname and Venezuela require product Approvals for Telecom and Safety on devices that emit radio frequencies or connect to PSTN.

Other countries only require product approvals if the equipment has radio frequency capability. Manufacturers can often leverage existing FCC or CE approvals to obtain the required country Certificate of Conformity in many South American countries. Please note that many South American countries require final governmental approval before importing and commercializing the equipment.
