On August 18, 2023, ENACOM, Argentina’s telecommunications regulator, published resolution no. 1132/2023. These regulations came into force with immediate effect. The following are some of the highlights:
- ENACOM approved two new technical standards for broadband equipment with digital modulation and frequency hopping.
- The main new features of the new standards are the inclusion of Wi-Fi6e technology in the 5,925 – 7,125 MHz band and the requirement to know the antenna gain of each device.
- The changes do not apply to devices with Wi-Fi6e that have already been registered or are in the approval process.
- The new standards will coexist with the previous standards for 90 calendar days.
- As of November 18, 2023, laboratories will only be able to measure DUTs according to the new technical standards.
- In the following cases only, documentary testing will be performed until further notice.
