After extensive consultations, the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago has officially endorsed and published the definitive version of the Telecommunication Equipment Standardization and Certification Framework on September 25th, 2023.
The framework addresses various matters that either have been or are scheduled for implementation, including:
- Implementation of application fees
- Authorization for modular approvals
- Establishment of a 5-year validity period for certificates
- Clarification of the certificate revision process
- Exemption of Rx only products from approval requirements
- Waiver of approval for wired devices
